A record 60 billfish were tagged in the two-day annual ``Allison'' White Marlin Release Tournament at Pirate's Cove, Sept. 8, 9 and 10.
The first-place boat, Temptation, racked up 445 points and is owned by Steve and Teresa Hutchins from Richmond. The boat's captain was Steve Daniels. Teresa Hutchins also won for top lady angler.
Second place honors went to the Suspense, also with 445 points. Sea Hag came in a close third with 440 points.
The total prize money distributed was $19,680 for the tournament, with an additional $8,213.75 going to the Dare County Shriners to benefit The Shriners' Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children.
Seventeen boats entered the tournament this year. Dates for next year's tournament have already been set for Sept. 8, 9 and 10, 1995. by CNB
