Heilig-Meyers Co., a Richmond-based furniture retailer, said its second-quarter earnings rose 30 percent. The company said profits rose to $14.8 million, or 30 cents per share, in the three-month period ended Aug. 31. That's up from $11.4 million, or 23 cents per share, in the same quarter a year ago. Quarterly sales rose 32 percent to $269.1 million from $204.7 million. by CNB
