Geraldine Scott ``Puddin'' Barnes, 37, of the 1000 block of W. 35th St., died Sept. 21, 1994, in her residence.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Norfolk. She was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ in Norfolk where she served so devotedly in its Youth Church, Pastor Aide and its senior and mass choirs.
Survivors include a daughter, Bisceglia Shavon Barnes; a son, Anthony Eugene Scott; and her mother and stepfather, Virginia Marner-Sawyer and Edward Sawyer Jr., all of Norfolk; two sisters, Inethia L. Scott of Randallstown, Md., and Crystal F. Marner-Fonville of Virginia Beach; a stepsister, Karen Sawyer of Tocoma, Wash.; a brother, Mr. Eugene Scott of Norfolk; two stepbrothers, Marquis Redd of Chesapeake and Andre' Sawyer of Tocoma, Wash.; a granddaughter, Shawonda Janae Hayes of Norfolk; a brother-in-law, Clarence E. Fonville Jr. of Norfolk; six nephews; one niece; six uncles; two aunts; two great-aunts; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends; and two very devoted friends, Mr. Robert Latham and Ms. Cindy Riddick.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at New Hope United Church of Christ by the Rev. James W. Anderson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements. Family and friends will assemble at 1028 W. 35th St., Norfolk, at noon Monday for funeral processional to the church.
