Joseph H. Turner, Sr., 68, of the 1200 block of Marge Drive, a retired warehouseman, died Sept. 22, 1994, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
Mr. Turner was born in Norfolk County. He retired from Southland Corporation after four years, was a member of the Mennonite faith, a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School van driver.
Survivors include his wife, Christine D. Turner; seven daughters, Vivian Tomlin and Dianne Whitt, both of Philadelphia, Pa., Kathy Smith of Chesapeake, W.Va., Geraldine Gordon, Sylvia Elliott and Wanda Jordan, all of Chesapeake, Va., and Gail A. Turner of Virginia Beach; and four sons, Larry Turner and Michael Turner, both of Chesapeake, Va., Kenneth Turner of Chesapeake, W.Va., and Joseph H. Turner, Jr., of Prospect, Va.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Roosevelt Memorial Park by the Rev. Robert Mast. Corprew Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Viewing will be family only and services will be private.
