WINNIE M. BRANTLEY

Winnie (Gladys) Meekins Brantley, 93, of Manteo, died Saturday, September 24, 1994, in a Chesapeake, Va., hospital. Mrs. Brantley was a native of Roanoke Island, Dare Co., N.C., and a homemaker. She was a member of the Roanoke Island Baptist Church. Mrs. Brantley was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Mrs. Winnie Dowdy Meekins and the widow of Thomas Wilson Brantley.

Mrs. Brantley is survived by one son: Norman Brantley of Manteo and was preceded in death by her son Claude W. Brantley.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, September 26, 1994, at 100 a.m. in the Meekins Family Cemetery, Sunnyside, Manteo, N.C., by the Rev. David Daniels. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Outer Banks History Center, Manteo, N.C., and will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brantley, (NU)33 The Waterfront, Manteo, N.C. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
