The Seventh Inning focuses on baseball in New York with the Yankees, Dodgers and Giants. It showed how baseball really connected with the fabric of the boroughs. There was a lot of love and loyalty for the game and the teams.
There were also segments on Casey Stengel, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson, Bobby Thomson's home run and Don Larsen's perfect game.
I grew up as a fanatical Yankees fan, so I had read about most of the things in this tape. But the show really brought this era to life.
I enjoyed the interviews with the famous people talking about how baseball impacted their lives. If some people think they are preachy, they don't have the same passion for the game that many of us have.

Best scene: Ted Williams hitting a homer in his final major league at-bat. To get the full effect with film and Williams' thoughts was great.
Most interesting fact: Both the Giants and Dodgers were still making profits when they moved to the West coast.
Weakest scene: Everyone singing ``Take Me Out to the Ballgame.''
Score this one: (Strikeout, single, double, triple, home run)
Definitely a home run. Made me want to see the whole series. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
