DAVIS SUCCEEDS JOSEPH D. CANTRELL, WHO WAS NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF TRIBUNE PUBLISHING IN JULY TO DIRECT THE UNIT'S SIX DAILY NEWSPAPERS AND TRIBUNE MEDIA SERVICES. CANTRELL SPENT EIGHT YEARS AS PRESIDENT AND PUBLISHER OF THE PAPER. DAVIS JOINED THE DAILY PRESS AS AN EDITOR IN 1987 AND HAS BEEN VICE PRESIDENT SINCE 1991. HE WAS METROPOLITAN EDITOR OF THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE FROM 1984 TO 1987.
