VIRGINIA BEACH
Police need help identifying a man responsible for the theft of money from drink machines.
Several thefts have been reported in Virginia Beach and other Hampton Roads cities during the past several months.
Detectives have photographs of a man using a stolen key to get into the machines. Pictures were taken by a security camera as the man removed money from the machines.
The man is described as black, in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build and a mustache and goatee.
On Tuesday, April 19, about 3a.m., the body of Robert A. McFarland, 31, was discovered.
A passer-by found the body in an alley in the 5800 block of East Hastings Arch in the Lake Edward section.
McFarland had been shot in the head.
Police are seeking any information about McFarland's activities before his murder or any information that will help lead detectives to an arrest.
HAMPTON
On Feb. 22, at 5:18 p.m., the Fort Monroe Credit Union at 109 W. Mercury Blvd. was robbed.
The robber entered the bank, handed the teller a note and demanded money.
The suspect is described as being a black male, early to mid 20s, about 6 feet tall, and weighs 170 pounds.
An older model, white Plymouth horizon two-door was seen leaving the area and may be connected.
CHESAPEAKE
On Friday, Sept. 16, about 3:30 a.m., police found Robert Brown, 20, shot several times in the chest on the parking lot of Cascade Boulevard's playground in South Norfolk.
Detectives know Brown was alive at 2:30 a.m., but they need to know where he was between 2:45 and 3:30 that morning.
A witness saw Brown get into a vehicle on Vernon Drive near Berkley Avenue at around 2:45 a.m. The car was driven by a black woman and there were three men inside, all described as black.
On April 9, at about 8 p.m., an 18-year-old woman was withdrawing money from an automated teller machine at the Central Fidelity Bank on George Washington Highway in Deep Creek when she was approached by a man.
The man forced the victim to withdraw more money, he took it and then he fled.
The robber is described as black, in his 30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 160 pounds and was wearing an Ohio State Buckeye ball cap.
PORTSMOUTH
On Thursday, Aug. 25, about 1 p.m., a man walked into Connie & Sherry's beauty salon in the 100 block of Dakota Street and presented a demand note.
The man indicated he had a gun and threatened to harm the victims if his demand was not met.
After receiving money from the register, the man left and was last seen running down Dakota Street toward Oregon Avenue.
The robber is described as white, 6 feet tall, 155 pounds, wearing blue jeans, a greenish yellow ball cap and dark sunglasses. He is believed to be in his mid 20s.
Investigators believe this person may also be involved in other robberies. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
SUFFOLK
Detective J.L. Williams is asking for help in solving a business burglary that occurred in the 3400 block of Carolina Road.
On the weekend of Sept. 12, a burglar pried open the doors on two storage buildings at Knight's Farm Supply.
