Thomas DeWitt Talmage, 83, of the 5700 block of Hedgerow Lane, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Talmage was a native of Richmond. He had retired as a linotype operator for The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star and the Portsmouth Star. He was also a retired salesman with Janets Office Supply, Portsmouth. He was a member of Western Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nellie F. Talmage; two daughters, Bonnie Rae Davis of Hampton and Connie T. Gayle of Fredericksburg, Va.; a sister, Maywood T. Pearson of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Cleveland B. Talmadge of Jacksonville, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Willliam Kay and the Rev. George F. Mullinax. The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
