Whitaker came home. A raucous crowd of 9,158 showed up at Scope on
Saturday and Whitaker didn't disappoint. He dominated McGirt,
shaking off a second-round knockdown for a unanimous victory.

A HARD SHOT
Whitaker, right, rocks McGirt with a hard left. Whitaker's jab was
particularly effective all night, landing 163 times. By contrast,
McGirt landed just 154 punches total. Whitaker also connected on a
series of powerful uppercuts.
GETTING READY
After spending about two hours preparing, Whitaker waits in his
dressing room at Scope with his entourage minutes before the fight.
Whitaker was 33-1-1 going in; he has not lost a fight since 1988.
STILL THE CHAMP
Co-manager Lou Duva, left, congratulates Whitaker as the referee
declares Sweetpea the winner. ``I ain't one to brag on myself,''
Whitaker said after the fight, ``but tonight I showed I was the
