President Clinton will visit Norfolk this morning, but unless you work at the headquarters of the U.S. Atlantic Command or aboard the carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower, you probably won't see him.
Clinton, along with Defense Secretary William Perry, will arrive aboard Air Force One at Norfolk Naval Station and spend about 3 1/2 hours at the Norfolk Naval Base, departing around lunchtime.
His schedule includes a meeting with Adm. Paul David Miller, head of the Atlantic Command, and members of Miller's staff to discuss operations in Haiti. Clinton and Miller also will confer with military commanders in Haiti during a video teleconference.
The president then will go to the Eisenhower to address its crew on the carrier's hangar deck. Helicopters launched from the Eisenhower took the first wave of Army troops into Haiti.
