Cassie Carawan Griffin Connor, 87, of the first block of Pleasant Gardens, died Oct. 5, 1994, in a Hickory, N.C. hospital.
Mrs. Connor was born in Lowlands, N.C., and was the widow of Joseph E. Connor Sr. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and was a retired department manager of Altschul's Department Store, Norfolk.
Survivors include a son, Charles C. Griffin of Taylorsville; a sister, Maretta Miller of Chesapeake; a brother, Vance Carawan of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Houston ``Chip'' Roberson. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 1904 Elbow Road, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
