Herbert L. Nickens departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Norfolk County, he was a son of the late Whalen and Nannie Claud Nickens.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Stith; a brother, James Nickens of Boykins; and devoted cousins, Dennis Darden and Susette McGee, both of Boykins.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Chapel of Pearson-Bond Funeral Home, Emporia, with the Rev. Colonious Avent officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. The family will receive friends at the residence of Susette McGee, Old Branchville Road, Boykins. Pearson-Bond Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
