BENNETTS CLAIM FIRST PLACE IN FRANKLIN BOWL SCOTCH DOUBLES

Joel and Ann Bennett rolled a 626 to grab the Scotch Doubles competition at the Franklin Bowl last week while Mike and Joyce Joyner placed second with a 599.

High game and high series bowlers in their leagues for the week were:

Hospital/Medical: Jane Markert, 168 game; Linda Mitchell, 468 series; William Mitchell, 258 game and 596 series.

Monday Nite Mixed: Faith Ashley, 202; Paula Kolb, 478; Ed Martin, 279 and 596.

Monday Industrial: Stanley Holland, 248 and 683.

Club 55: Ann Lowers, 207 and 524; Ulysses Johnson, 201 and 586.

Mixed Nuts, Chris Cutchins and Ann Bennett, 216; Chris Cutchins, 601; Alan Glasgow, 267 and 689.

Wednesday Classic: Deborah Elliott, 240 and 553; George Turner, 267; Mike Davis, 704.

TERRYE BRADSHAW of JUWACO rolled a high game of 142 and Mae Faison of The Vogue had a high series of 364 in the Suffolk Mixed Nuts bowling league last week.

Other top series were turned in by Warren Faison, Cornett's Garage, 354; Bradshaw, 353; Lu Arnett, Arnette Properties, 344; Margaret Holland, Cornett's Garage, 321; Cully Arnette, Arnette Properties, 320; Bob Gardner, Barton Ford, 316; Sue Forbes, Barton Ford, 310; Miriam Pugh, Golden Corral, and Agnes Tate, Arnette Properties, 306; Myrtle Mumford, JUWACO, 303, and Toni Copeland, Cornett's Garage, 301.

Arnette Properties leads the league with an 11-1 record and Cornett's Garage is second with an 8-4 mark. Golden Corral is third with a 6-6 showing.

Others are Barton Ford, Ferguson & Rawls and The Vogue, 5-7, JUWACO and Heilig Meyers, 4-8.

PEGGY CORNETT fired a high set 352 to lead G.P. Jackson to a 3-1 win over Al Smith's Repairs and Body Shop in the Suffolk Tuesday Night Ladies league. She also tied with Morris & Piland's Margie Blieler for high game with a 128.

Morris & Biland blanked Suffolk Glass, 4-0, and Ocean Threads trimmed Starr Motors, 3-1. Suffolk Alignment defeated Mike Duman, 3-1.

G.P. Jackson leads the league with a 14-6 while Morris & Piland and Suffolk Alignment are tied for second with 12-8 records. Starr Motors is fourth at 10-10, but Ocean Threads and Al Smith are knotted with 9-11 marks. Suffolk Glass is seventh at 8-12 and Mike Duman rounds out the loop with a 6-14.

Blieler had a 340 set to rank second to Cornett. Brenda Gregory of Mike Duman fired a 335. Connie Insley and Denise Carrow, both of Suffolk Alignment, shot 331's.

Others with 300 plus sets were Anita Joyce, Starr Motors, 321; Marguerite Butler, G.P. Jackson, 320; Mary Branchaud, Al Smith's, 311, and Leola Smith, Suffolk Glass, 308. by CNB
