The State Corporation Commission will hold two hearings for area residents interested in commenting on plans by Bell Atlantic to extend the local calling area.
The hearings will be held at 2p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Cape Charles Town Council chamber.
Bell Atlantic is proposing to extend local calling services from the Cape Charles exchange to the Norfolk/Virginia Beach exchange. The increase in the calling area would bring an increase in the monthly service rate while eliminating toll charges for such calls.
Those unable to attend either hearing may submit comments in writing to William J. Bridge, clerk, Virginia State Corporation Commission, P.O. Box 2118, Richmond, Va. 23216. Correspondence should refer to case number PUC940026 and should be received before Oct. 13. by CNB
