Patricia Wootton Gwaltney, 50, of 255 River Oaks Lane, died Monday, Oct. 10, 1994, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News.
Mrs. Gwaltney, a native of Clarksville, Va., was the daughter of the late Raymond and Pauline Nunn Wootton. She was a lifelong member of The Clarksville Baptist Church in Clarksville, Va. She attended Elon College, Elon, N.C., and Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond.
Mrs. Gwaltney had been a resident of Smithfield for 25 years. Among varried volunteer activities, she was a member of the Col. William Allen Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
Graveside services will be conducted at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield, Va., at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Patricia Gwaltney Memorial Fund at Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, 3373 Pruden Blvd., Suffolk, Va. 23434, or Ivy Hill Cemetery, P.O. Box 504, Smithfield, Va. 23430.
Survivors include her husband, F. Maynard Gwaltney, one daughter, Nicole Ray Gwaltney, and a son, F. Maynard Gwaltney Jr., all of Smithfield.
The family will receive friends at their home.
Colonial Funeral Home of Smithfield is in charge of arrangements.
