Fern Mathis Blount, 45, of the 5500 block of W. High St., died Oct. 9, 1994.
She was born in Portsmouth and was a former inventory analyst at the Naval Supply Center.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Blount; two daughters, Felicia Mathis of New York and Tonda Blount of Portsmouth; her mother, Nettie H. Mathis of Portsmouth; a sister, Barbara Jeffrey and a brother, Joseph Mathis Jr., both of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Mathis Sr.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Trinity Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by Dr. O.L. Cromwell. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Family and friends will assemble at 10:15 a.m. at 508 Weaver Circle, Portsmouth.
