A Northern Virginia college administrator was among four finalists named Thursday for the presidency of Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton.
Gail B. Kettlewell, provost of the Manassas campus of Northern Virginia Community College, was named a finalist by the State Board for Community Colleges.
Kettlewell, who received her doctorate from Virginia Tech, taught at Tidewater Community College from 1974 to 1983.
The other finalists are Roger C. Anderson, president of Adirondack Community College in New York; Shirley Robinson Pippins, vice president and dean of Westchester Community College in New York; and James R. Randolph, president of Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, N.C.
Arnold R. Oliver, the chancellor of the state community college system, plans to select the new president by Nov. 4. by CNB
