LEONARD RIDDICK

Leonard Riddick, 73, of the 200 block of Hanbury Ave., a retired policeman and fireman, died Oct. 15, 1994, in his residence.

He was a native of Gates County, N.C., a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church, D.A.V. Chapter 41, NARF Chapter 63 and Moose Lodge 898 and an honorary member of the Sunbury Hunt Club. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 29 years and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Frances W. Riddick; two sons, Leonard Ray Riddick of Portsmouth and Karl Wayne Riddick and daughter-in-law, Sharon, of Corapeake, N.C.; a sister, Mary Jane Gellner of Brooksville, Fla.; six brothers, W. Thurman Riddick and McKay Riddick, both of Belvidere, N.C., Paige Riddick of Gates, N.C., Lloyd E. ``Pete'' Riddick of Hertford, N.C., James C. ``Carroll'' Riddick of Portsmouth and Frank Riddick of Jasper, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Cathy, Leonard, Jr., Leslie, and Nicholas Riddick.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Dr. Ted Barton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the building fund of Fairview Heights Baptist Church.
