Charlie Cullen Swain, 101, of Jernigan Swamp Road, a retired farmer, died Oct. 15, 1994, in Guardian Care Nursing Home.
Mr. Swain was born in Chowan County, N.C. He was a member of Colerain Baptist Church and a decorated veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon Swain of Ahoskie, N.C., and Charles R. Swain of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Colerain Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Kelley. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, other times at the home of Vernon Swain at 402 Jernigan Swamp Road, Ahoskie.
