William Henry Jones, 84, of the 1000 block of Dubose Drive died Oct. 14, 1994, in Norfolk Health Care Center.
Mr. Jones was born in Norfolk. He retired from maintenance with Montgomery Ward after 20 years. He was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, Eureka Lodge of Norfolk, Va., Inc., the Sons of Norfolk Lodge and the Buffalo Lodge. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Jones; two daughters, Brenda Merritt of Norfolk and Barbara Gaines of New Jersey; a son, Willie Jones of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Moss Jones and Harold Jones.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Queen Street Baptist Church, 413 E. Brambleton Ave., by the Rev. Peter M. Wherry. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The family will assemble at his residence, 1017 Dubose Drive.
