LAWRENCE F. MAYER

CPO Lawrence F. Mayer, USN (Ret.), 73, of the 200 block of Sir Oliver Road, a retired chief electricians mate, died Oct. 15, 1994, in Norfolk.

Mr. Mayer was born in Boston, Mass. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1972 after 30 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member and deacon of Freemason Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy B. Mayer; two daughters, Karen Ann Mayer of Medford, Mass., and Leslie Marie Huybert of Norfolk; a son, John L. Mayer of Medfield, Mass.; a sister, Patricia Cameron of Foxboro, Mass.; a brother, Robert Mayer of West Barnstable, Mass.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Dr. Donald J. Dunlap, Dr. William L. Lumpkin and the Rev. Wayne T. Blythe. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. The family will be at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Freemason Street Baptist Church.
