Police charged a Suffolk man with two counts of capital murder in connection with a double shooting Friday night.
Herman R. Hunter, 35, of the 5700 block of Whaleyville Blvd., was being held Saturday in the Suffolk City Jail on two charges of capital murder and two charges of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, police said.
Police were called Friday night to North 6th Street and 7th Street about 7:15 p.m. Marie Norman, 31, and Wayne Christopher Herbert, 33, had been shot. Neighbors told police Herbert was Norman's boyfriend and that Hunter was her ex-boyfriend.
