Local police are asking for help in solving these cases:

NORFOLK

On Sept. 2, just after 7 a.m., the Norfolk Fire Department responded to 2713 Azalea Garden Road, where a child was locked in a car.

While Fire Department rescuers removed the child from the car, a woman nearby started screaming. She had just discovered the body of a man next to a building.

The man was later identified as Warrenton J. Parker, 21, also known as ``Pimp,'' from the 2700 block of Azalea Garden Road. He had been shot to death. Parker was a graduate and outstanding athlete from Bayside High School in Virginia Beach. Investigators believe Parker arrived home between 4 and 5 a.m. when he was approached by his assailant and shot.

Police have determined Parker had been at Mr. Magic's nightclub in the 400 block of Newtown Road earlier and was driving his red 1990 Nissan Maxima and may have been in the company of another person.
