Raymond Charles Snelling, 85, of the 2000 block of Wyoming Ave., a retired electric welder, died Oct. 16, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Snelling was a native of Baltimore and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Alexander Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel A. Snelling; a son, Herbert Ray Snelling of Portsmouth; two sisters, Gladys E. Jones of Blacksburg, Va., and Lillian Baker of Hampton; two grandchildren, Herbert R. Snelling Jr. and Micah D. Snelling; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by the Rev. John Burr and the Rev. Edward Strange. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
