NationsBank's third-quarter profits rose 26 percent to $431 million, or $1.55 per share, compared to the same period a year ago, the banking company announced Monday.
NationsBank earned $341 million in the same three months ending Sept. 30 last year. Earnings per common share were $1.33 for the quarter in 1993.
NationsBank's third-quarter 1994 results included the full impact of several acquisitions in 1993, said Hugh McColl, chairman and chief executive officer.
Strong growth in loans and fee income also contributed to the surge in profits, he said.
``NationsBank continues to produce strong financial results with broad-based improvements in almost every key area,'' McColl said.
NationsBank has bank offices in nine states and the District of Columbia and consumer finance offices in 31 states. As of Sept. 30, NationsBank had total assets of $171 billion. by CNB
