It is apparent that the media have gone all out to defeat Oliver North by reporting exclusively on his shortfalls and forgetting that Chuck Robb has plenty for which to be ashamed.
We all know that Mr. North helped mastermind the sale of conventional Hawk missiles to the ayatollah while Iran was waging a brutal war with Saddam Hussein. Proceeds were to support the Contras, who were trying to overthrow the communist government of Nicaragua. The Nicaraguans were working to subvert the democratically elected government of El Salvador, and had it not been for Ronald Reagan's aggressive containment policy, Central America may have gone the way of Southeast Asia.
Mr. Robb's problems are of a different nature. No one but Chuck Robb put him in those very compromising situations with drugs and women. Public figures who engage in such behavior are subject to blackmail and violate the trust of their voters. And where was Mr. Robb while his staff was illegally eavesdropping on Mr. Wilder's phone conversations?
It is common knowledge that the media are overwhelmingly liberal and biased against conservative politicians and causes. Let's show these liberal elites that their smear tactics and one-sided reporting will no longer work in our state by electing Oliver North to the U.S. Senate.
