EARNEST WALLACE

Earnest Wallace of the 5800 block of Hartwick Drive, a retired Army veteran and postal worker, died Oct. 15, 1994, at a residence in the 4500 block of Hampshire Ave.

Mr. Wallace was born in Chappells, S.C., and was a member of Norfolk United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and Medal of Valor, Vietnam, and many civil service awards.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Mae Johnson-Wallace; two sons, Christopher V. Wallace of Chesapeake and Andre A. Wallace of Norfolk; a sister, Lucy Simpson of Chappells, S.C.; three brothers, Moses Wallace of Newberry, S.C., Jack Wallace of Philadelphia and William Burns of Hamilton, Ohio; his godmother, Lessie Farrow of Chappells; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in Norfolk United Methodist Church, with full military honors, by the Rev. Finley Jones. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the processional. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
