James Edward ``Pete'' Johnson, Sr., 53, of the 1500 block of Austin Drive, a truck driver for 36 years, died Oct. 21, 1994 in Suffolk.
He was a native of Lebanon, Va., and employed at Rountree Construction, Suffolk.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Johnson; two daughters, Rhonda C. Morgan of Suffolk, Robin C. Quesenberry and son-in-law Wandell Quesenberry of Portsmouth; a son, James ``Petey'' Johnson Jr. and daughter-in-law Tammy Johnson of Portsmouth; his mother, Fannie K. Johnson of Portsmouth; seven sisters, Janice E. Clarke, Jacqueline O'Connell, Margaret J. Mitchum, Geraldine Mullins, Joyce A. Burch, Nancy J. Jenkins and Becky J. Smith; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Johnson.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, by the Rev. Noah Barefoot, Jr. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
