WALTER J. MCDONALD

Walter J. McDonald, 70, of the 400 block of Robin Road, died Oct. 23, 1994, in Norfolk.

Mr. McDonald was a native of Portsmouth. He had retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock as an engineering manager after 35 years. He was a member of Westside Christian Church. He was a member of America-Fellowship Masonic Lodge 148, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple and was past patron of Mariam Chapter 94, Order of the Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Sally H. McDonald; a son, Walter M. McDonald of Chesapeake; three daughters, Jeanie McDonald Ragland and Cindy L. Horvath of Portsmouth and Janice White of Suffolk; two sisters, Evelyn McDonald Brown of Jonesboro, Ga. and Ruby McDonald Foster of Newport News; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by the Rev. Ken Bryant. Entombment with masonic rites will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
