Robert Parker Fentress, 93, of the 7600 block of Nancy Drive, died Oct. 23, 1994, in Chesapeake General Hospital.
Mr. Fentress was born in Pinters Point, Norfolk County. He had retired after 33 years of service as a chief engineer with Virginia Pilots Association. He was the widower of Myrtle R. Fentress and was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church. He was also a member of Corinthian Lodge 266, AF & AM John Walters Royal Arch Chapter since 1925. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Lou Johnston and son-in-law, Edward Callender Johnston Sr. of Norfolk; two grandchildren, Edward C. Johnston Jr. and wife, Rhonda and Nancy Johnston Byrd and husband, Allen; three great-grandchildren, Kenneth William Knight II, Matthew Parker Knight and Kristen Johnston.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery by Dr. Donald Dunlap. The family will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
