Jesse Warren, 90, formerly of Chesapeake, died Tuesday in a Virginia Beach Nursing Home.
Mr. Warren was born in Shiloh, N.C., and was the son of the late Samuel and Susan Cartwright Warren. He was the widower of Bertha Goldia Warren and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Warren was a retired merchant who owned and operated J.W. Warrens General Merchandise Store in Chesapeake.
Survivors include his two daughters, Shirley W. Spencer of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Susan W. Dowdy of Virginia Beach; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:p.m., Thursday, at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, 524 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Elder Ira Spencer III will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
