Barbara Ann McElvy, born Oct. 11, 1946, died Oct. 22, 1994. An LPN for over 20 years, with 11 years of pediatrics at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. She was employed at Sentara Nursing Home on Newtown Road, Norfolk, VA.
Mrs. McElvy was a member of the VFW Post 3160, Ladies Auxiliary; American Legion Post 327; and Nursing Society of America; and Democratic Club of Ocean View.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. McElvy; her daughter Cynthia Ann McElvy Weldon of Chesapeake; a son Christopher Thomas McElvy of Norfolk; four grandchildren; two step sons; one step daughter and seven step grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday Oct. 30, 1994, in the chapel of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home on Tidewater Drive in Norfolk. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 20, 1994 in the chapel at DePaul Hospital.
