Ellen Maurer Treadwell, age 66, died Tuesday, 10-25-94. She was a native of Atlanta, Ga., and grew up in Norfolk, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Davis Maurer. She attended St. Margaret's School in Tappahannock, Va.,for 5 years, graduating in 1945. She also attended Hollins College in Roanoke, Va.
She was a ``Navy wife'' for 30 years and had resided in Mathews County since 1983. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, serving on the Altar Guild and as editor of the monthly church letter. She was also a member of the Mathews Woman's Club.
Survived by: Husband, Lawrence P. Treadwell, Jr. Capt. USN, Ret., daughter: Elizabeth Treadwell Schlenk and her husband, Henry O. Schlenk of Mathews. 2 sons: Lawrence P. Treadwell III, of Sheridan, Ore., Christopher Davis Treadwell of Honolulu, HI. 1 granddaughter: Christine Elizabeth Treadwell of Portland, Ore.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Episcopal Church, Mathews, with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family requests contributions to be made to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mathews, Va., 23109. Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, is in charge of the arrangements.
