JAMES D. WHITE

James D. ``Buster'' White, 71, departed this life on Oct. 27, 1994.

He was a native of Carrollton and was a member of Macedonia AME Church. He was also a member of Local 1248 International Longshoreman Association, Norfolk, ILA Retired Club, American Legion Post 0141 and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors are his wife, Bernice L. White of Carrollton; four sons, James A. White of Chesapeake, Floyd White of Coral Springs, Fla., Roscoe White of Hampton and Alvertis White of Newport News; eight daughters, Jacqueline Tynes of Hampton, Joyce Gamble, Phyllis Hall, Delma Nyarko-Brenton, Charolette Moore, and Valerie Howard, all of Northern Virginia, and Vanessa Edwards of Newport News and Mary White of Carrollton; two sisters, Lillie White of Battery Park and Victoria White of Hampton; 21 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Macedonia AME Church, Carrollton by the Rev. John Clark. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Monday. Family will assemble at residence at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Arrangements by Pretlow and Chapman Funeral Home, Smithfield.
