The closer we get to Election Day, the more polarized the political parties become.
Democrats and Republicans share the burden of radicals in their parties, and sometimes the radicals get their man elected.
Marion Barry was put into office by blind devotees in the Democratic Party. Oliver North has captured the same contingent of the Republican Party.
Unfortunately, when people like Barry and North do get elected, the party doesn't matter because the results are the same: Everybody loses.
