Wesley H. ``Doc'' Hurt Jr., 59, of the 600 block of Shenandoah St., died Saturday, Oct. 29, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Hurt was a native of Fitzgerald, Ga. He was predeceased by his parents, Wesley H. Hurt Sr. and Lula Young Hurt. He had retired from Shop 71 of Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a painter.
Survivors include his wife, Edith M. Hurt; five stepdaughters and their husbands, Arlene and Ludwig Hangley of New Port Richey, Fla. and Connie Stallings, Judith and Robert Smith, Sandra Day and Penny and Alvin Griffin, all of Portsmouth; a sister, Fannie Lee Rutherford of Newport News; a brother, Eugene Hurt of Fitzgerald, Ga.; and 11 stepgrandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Gary W. Kumm. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
