Edward ``Ed'' ``Mac'' LeRoy McKnight, 72, of the 2300 block of Haywood Ave., a retired electrical salesman, died Oct. 30, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. McKnight was born in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He had retired from the Noland Co. after 25 years. He was active in past years in the parks and recreation department of Chesapeake where he coached basketball and baseball. He had retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years and served in World War II and Korea. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Branch in Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ginny McKnight DeLeon.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Hanbury McKnight; a daughter and son-in-law, Mickey and Jerry Lovell of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Kimberly DeLeon Armao and John DeLeon III, both of Chesapeake and Jimmy Lovell and Jean Maree Lovell, both of Portsmouth; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Willis Dowling. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and at his residence at other times.
