John Franklin Woodall Sr., 70, of the 3400 block of Clover Road, died October 30, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Durham, N.C., and was the husband of JoAnn L. Woodall. He was a retired insurance salesman and Major from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Western Branch Masonic Lodge (NU)189, the Portsmouth Moose Lodge (NU)898, the Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, the Khedive Temple, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Laura W. Parrish of Durham, N.C., and Lisa E. Hudson of Chesapeake, Va.; one son, John F. Woodall Jr. of Portsmouth, Va.; four step-daughters, Linda Hill of Chesapeake, Va., Laura Hall of Cherryville, N.C., Lorraine Wynn of Portsmouth, Va., and Loretta King of Portsmouth, Va.; one step-son, Jimmy King of Portsmouth, Va.; two sisters, Ada Booth Christopher of Chase City, Va., and Pearl Askew of Suffolk, Va.; one brother, Albert Woodall of Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, with Masonic Rites. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
