Dezada Williams, 85, of the 2000 block of Ballahack Road, died Nov. 5, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Williams was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Deacon Roy L. Williams. She was a member and Deaconess of Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and was Mother of the church. She was a member of the Golden Age Senior Citizens Club of Fentress and United Order of Tents.
Survivors include two daughters, Gertie S. Holmes and Evangelist Annie O'Neal, both of Chesapeake; a sister-in-law, Ethel Davenport of Chesapeake; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Samuel Sykes. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery. The family will be at 2044 Ballahack Road and will leave from there to go to the church. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
