G. DEAN HOWELL

George Dean Howell, 41, of the 300 block of Esplanada Place, died Nov. 9, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Howell was born in Suffolk and was division director, Quality Assurance, at the Naval Air Station. He was a member of Kempsville Presbyterian Church, Virginia Beach, the Singles Bible Study and Young Life Group. He was a graduate of Old Dominion University.

Survivors include his mother, Mamie Lee Bradshaw Howell; a sister, Jean Howell Pierce, and a brother, Robert S. ``Bobby'' Howell Jr., all of Suffolk. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Stanley Howell.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, by Dr. James H. Nowell and the Rev. Douglas W. Gibson. The family will receive friends at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at 1801 Holland Road, Suffolk. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1423 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23454, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1413, Suffolk, Va. 23439.
