A two-alarm fire destroyed one home and damaged a second Thursday night. No one was injured.
The cause of the blaze in the 1200 block of Ohio St. in South Norfolk is under investigation.
The fire, reported at 9:30 p.m., flared into the night sky and was visible for miles for a short time.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to a third home.
