Merle Lake Weikert, 83, of the 3300 block of Yeates Drive, died Nov. 14, 1994, in Chesapeake.
Mr. Weikert was born in Gettysburg, Pa. He had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Sheet Metal Shop 17. He was the widower of Goldie Elizabeth Weikert and was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Cradock Royal Arch Chapter 72, Order of the Eastern Star, Victory Chapter 16 and Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge 178.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara W. McKinney of Chesapeake; a son, Charles R. Weikert of Chesapeake; a brother, Willis Weikert of Gettysburg, Pa.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The graveside service with masonic rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. William H. Battermann. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, today at 7 p.m., where the family will remain until 8:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
