Julia Sadie Pailen of the 1000 block of Kittrell St., died Nov. 13, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Pailen was born in Timonsville, S.C., and was retired from the Norfolk public schools after 27 years. She was a member of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances A. Pailen of Norfolk and Gloria P. Bates of Greenbelt, Md.; a son, Earnest L. Pailen of Atlanta; two brothers, Walter Williams and Ruther Williams, both of North Carolina; and a grandchild, Andrew M. Pailen of Norfolk. She was predeceased by by her parents, Bessie and Jessie Williams.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church, 7036 Chesapeake Blvd., Norfolk, by Pastor C. Kirkland Harris. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family requests that all family and friends meet at the church for the funeral service. The remains will be placed in the church at 9 a.m. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
