Sen. John Warner did what any intellligent, conscientious person should have done: He expressed his personal political preference.
He exercised his constitutionally guaranteed right of supporting the political candidate of his preference, without coercion from any person or organization. I would hope that every American voter would have the intelligence and integrity to examine and evaluate each candidate and political issue before giving his or her support and vote. Only a mindless automaton votes solely because the candidate was endorsed by a specific person or organization.
Blind adherence to the ideals of any person or organization has the ultimate result that is best illustrated by what happened in Germany during 1930-1945. God protect us from any person or organization that represents itself as omnipotent and demands blind obedience to its opinions.
Although I am nominally a Republican and conservative, I cast my vote for the person, not the party, whom I consider will best support the Constitution and my beliefs in the issues of the day.
