JOE KING

Joe King, 83, of the 400 block of Main St., a retired rigger, died Nov. 19, 1994, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Mr. King was born in Swan Quarter, N.C., and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was the widower of Ogie B. King.

Survivors include a daughter, Elnora B. Smith of Capital Heights, Md.; five sons, Allen Boykins of Chesapeake, Calvin A. Brown and Linwood L. King Sr., both of Portsmouth, James M. King of Fort Washington, Md., and Harry E. Brown of Staunton; a sister, Zuleana Holloway of Chesapeake; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church Money Point, 439 Freeman Ave., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Benjamin Adamson. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing began at 6 p.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
