Travelers line up to buy tickets and check bags at Norfolk

International Airport Wednesday afternoon as other holiday travelers

are already heading to board airplanes for flights out of South

Hampton Roads. Meanwhile, others are coming into the area - to be

met inside the airport by relatives and friends who came to the

airport to meet them. The Thanksgiving holiday is one of the busiest

travel days of the year.

Army Staff Sgt. Karin Lyman-Smith, left, and her husband, James

Smith, head down a corridor at the Norfolk airport Wednesday

afternoon after she arrived from Wongju, South Korea, where she's

been based for the past year. They live in Virginia Beach and last

saw each other in June when Lyman-Smith was on leave.
