HORACE GATLING

Horace Gatling, 86, of the 70 block of Grove St., a retired brick mason, died Nov. 22, 1994, in Autumn Care of Portsmouth.

He was a native of Rich Square, N.C., and was the widower of Willie Lee Gatling. He was a member of Noble Street Baptist Church, and was an honorary member of King Edward Lodge (NU)26.

He is survived by five sons, Leondas Gatling, LaDaniel Gatling, Alvin E. Gatling, Calvin J. Gatling and Bernard S. Gatling, all of Portsmouth; one sister, Fannie Boone Pitt of New Rochelle, N.J.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Noble Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie T. Northam. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be at Corprew Funeral Home at 4 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Monday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
