James A. ``Honey'' Godfrey Sr., 50, died Nov. 23, 1994.
He was a quality assurance specialist with NADFP. He was retired from the United States Navy as a AFCM after 21 years of service. He was a native of St. Louis, Mo., and was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. He graduated from St. Leo College and was a life member of the VFW Post (NU)392, former member of the Fleet Reserve Branch (NU)166, member of the American Legion (NU)141, and was the regional vice-president with American Society of Quality Control (ASQC).
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline E. Godfrey; five sons, Scott Perkins and Jim A Godfrey Jr., both of Missouri, Jesse Godfrey, Jacob Godfrey, and Jon Godfrey, all of Virginia Beach; his mother, Ellen R. Godfrey and his father, Francis L. Godfrey, both of Missouri; one sister, Barbara Lalta of Missouri; and two grandsons.
A chapel service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by the Rev. Michael Breslin. There will be a full burial at sea with military honors. There will be a wake service in the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Star of the Sea Catholic Church Building Fund.
