Thelma Ivis Hinshaw Parks, 83, of the 3500 block of Berkshire Drive, Western Branch, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 1994, at home.
Mrs. Parks was born in Asheboro, Randolph County, N.C. She lived in the Hampton Roads area for over 50 years.
She was a member of the United Congregational Christian Church, Portsmouth, Va., and was the widow of James Arthur Parks Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean C. Cochran of the home; one son, James Arthur Parks Jr. of Richmond; and two grandsons.
The body has been donated to medical science. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. in United Congregational Christian Church, 5900 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth. After the service the family will receive visitors in the church parlor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Lung Association, the American Cancer Society or United Congregational Christian Church.
